Update time. Excavator finished up on Friday, took four days to dig. The pond ended up 100' by 200' and 15 ft deep.We never even dug up a rock the size of a pebble. At about 8' down the sand started to have a little clay content down to about 12' then back to pure sand. There is a variety of slope from near 1 to 1 to about 4 to 1. As of this afternoon (Sunday) it is almost halfway filled.The dirt piles look like a mini mountain range,wow thats a lot of dirt.

Plus your water could even have a light brown tint from tannin leachate draining from some nearby bogs or swamps. Water clarity will be a big determining factor for you regarding weed infestations.
