I have been looking for a pond water testing kit. Any of you guys have a recommended one you use?

I use the API Pond Master Test Kit and like it. I know a few others here use it too. I have cross checked the PH results with a handheld electronic device and it is very accurate.

I have also used the CHEMets D.O. Test Kit (#K-7512) for disolved O2 (checked it against a handheld also) and like it.

Cliff, I just send a sample to TAMU. Cheap and fast.
I don’t really care for the kits.

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

Dave, forgive my ignorance. But I have some questions about water testing as well. Do you simply use this form and send to TAMU along with some jars of water?

One jar of water, or multiple samples taken at different parts of the pond? Just a routine analysis? Do the test results include information about desired ranges for the various tests? Do they make recommendations on what to do if some of the results are not ideal for a fishery?

Shane, I just did one.

I also had one done by some public place in Fort Worth that tests well water. Not sure who that was.

I agree that TAMU is the best choice. I have had my water tested my them.

I was looking for a quick check of PH and Phosphorus just to see where the BOW is right now.

I bought the API pond master kit. Seem pretty good
