Pat, I keep thinking that if you could build a fish highway that moved from the shallows to the deeper water might provide cover/structure for the bc fry to hang around and maybe provide a hiding place for them as they move to open water. I was thinking cedars might work for the highway. it might also add a place to fish when the bc move during different times of year. Shallow to deep and visa/versa. Maybe building it towards the most productive fishing spots where you have caught the bc in the past.

Pat I am in the process of adding a brush highway. I found out it takes a lot of cedars and cinder blks to build a highway of any length. You have an area where you want to thin the cedars smile I will be sinking a highway pretty soon going from one feeder at the shallow end of the pond to a brush pile in deeper water. I have cut some cedars along with a Christmas tree that are now on the bank. I have around 10 right now but will need to double that number.

I learnt this on here. Tokeep the trees vertical tie a half gallon empty mild carton (I've gone gallon on big trees) toward the top of the tree. The air in the jug will keep them vertical.

Just as an aside to the idea of getting the trees to be vertical. When we place cedars in lakes we use a small piece of something buoyant attaches to the top of the tree and weight the bottom. Does a good job of keeping the tree vertical.
