What can I "leagelly" catch in public waters here in Georgia with a cast net?? I know they want let you catch Bass, but what about small bream?? Is this OK?? I know people catch these fish all the time for bait..

The handbook for Georgia say shad and herring only.

You can not catch any sportfish in a castnet. THis means small bluegill, bass, crappie, etc. All else is fair game. We catch shad this way and when we catch a bluegill, or other sportfish we toss in back in the lake. THis of course on public water. On private water you have a whole diff set of rules that if on your own pond you can about do what you want.
