Hey guys,

I just thought I would drop in to say that our pond is now almost completely full. We are about 5-6" below our overflow pipe. When we have some days with continuous high wind we do have a little bit of a fall in the water level but it appears to be a WHOLE LOT better. Before we put out the bentonite we would drop over 1' in a few days so apparently we are on the right track.

For those that don't know we have a pond that was built about 3 years ago. We have had a serious leakage problem and put 12k lbs of pelletized bentonite out in a boat in an area that we suspected was leaking.

Today I talked to a contractor about spreading lime and shocking our pond next month. I've made the arrangements to have some lime delivered at a very affordable rate as well. Our pond is somewhere between 6-6.5 acres and I have been advised that I need around 24 tons. I am doing the electroshocking because I'm a little concerned about the fish populations becoming unbalanced due to the severe water level changes and condensing the fish into such a small area. Basically I'm worried about over predation by the bass over the coppernosed blue gill.

So it looks like we are on the right track. Thanks again everyone!

The decision to check your fish population is a wise one.
