Hello from the center of the USA! We are having a .5 acre pond dug on a 10 acre lot as we speak. I’ll be spending lots of time here getting informed for sure. Specs of the pond are 100’ X 225’ with a 10’ lowest level. Red clay bottom and no water yet since we are very dry at the moment. We are hoping to add bluegill and minnows this fall assuming it rains and holds water. Very exciting time for my sons.

Welcome KS! Get it dug, get it filling with water, and get FHM's in as soon as possible. They (FatHead Minnows) will make many more if you supply some spawning areas for them. They make a BIG difference in the game fish growth in a new pond. Before you pull the trigger on stocking game fish, start a thread and tell us your goals for the pond and you will get off on the right foot. You get some really cool options.
Fish on!, Noel

Welcome from another Kansas fella. You got any pictures? I wish I would have took some before hand. What shape are you making it? I put some fishing peirs in mine which makes it a lot easer to get to all of it from the bank.
