3/8" pellets cause problems for my TH feeders, sometimes get stuck even though adjusted. 1" is called hand thrown for a reason.
Texas Avenger says they have a feeder than can throw the big stuff. Maybe Cannon has, too. TH doesn't seem to have anything like that in their lineup.
Anybody tried one of these machines on the big stuff?

Frank, let me know what you come up with during your search. At my place, for right now, I am hand feeding approximately 500 aquamax lmb pellets when I hand feed. Feeding the lmb and hsb. And it is pretty much gone as fast as it hits the water. I split up this hand thrown feed to two different spots at the pond. And I will hand feed 4 to 5 times per week. This does not include my 3 TH feeders that go off 3 times per day @ 2 seconds per feeding of MVP. Or 18 seconds total per day for all three. I would consider getting another feeder that would throw the lmb feed but I am a little concerned my feed bill might double lol. And is is high enough already. Also a little concerned about my water quality if I feed any more than I do already.

anthropic, I've had them for less than a month, but so far my Sweeney's will easily throw 3/8" pellets. There's no restrictions between the bottom of the hopper and the horizontal auger, so I don't see any potential problems with humidity or jamming.

Frank, hope I am not hijacking here. Al, have you tried the Purina lmb pellets in the Swenney? For me, I have feed the Cargils feed in the 3/8" or maybe it was the 1/4" sized but the TH feeder had no problems with that size. But if I consider a fishes energy spent to feed then I prefer the Purina larger sized feed for growing fish faster. So, does the Sweeny throw the Purina or Optimal larger sized feed without any or few problems? Al, sorry if I ask a dumb question pertaining to size of feed. And anyone have a cost comparison to the other two brands mentioned?

Anyone tried to open up the TH enough to throw the LMB? I guess the question would be in the blower fan opening being able to handle it.
1.8 acre pond with CNBG, RES, HSB, and LMB Trophy Hunter feeder.

Thanks to Brian, Tracy, and Al for your responses. I love my five TH feeders, so would prefer to stick with them. But it doesn't seem feasible. They will throw 3/8" feed for a while, but eventually get jammed, even after opening & adjusting. And really big stuff, the 1" pellets, are impossible.
Texas Avenger advertised in PB magazine a feeder that can throw the 1" pellets, but when I checked their web page it was nowhere to be found. I'll have to call them. If I lived at my BOW I'd just hand throw, it's a blast (literally) when LMB & HSB hit the large pellets.

Tracy, no dumb questions. I think the Sweeneys are only rated to 1/2". I only hand feed the bigger LMB pellets because my HSB are like ghosts. Some days I can't throw it fast enough, and other days there may only be 1-2 hits. I almost think it would take a dedicated manufactured feeder to throw 1" pellets. If TH widened the funnel and dropped the spinner and made it wider, smaller food would just pour out. I'm not sure what the answer is.
