My TH feeders are mostly trouble free, but I ran into a problem today. Timer & battery work fine, solar panel is fine, spin plate works fine, but impeller doesn't move at all. Result: Massive buildup of feed that never gets thrown into the pond.
Has anybody else had this problem? Is it most likely a short in the connection -- the feeder almost got inundated a couple of weeks ago -- or has the impeller likely gone bad? If so, is there a fix other than buying a new feeder?
Thanks in advance!

Mine will lock up like that when I try to clear the funnel area of a large conglomerate of feed that sticks together. Does yours lock up after trying to clear it or does it just overload to much food at one time, and clog things up? Do you mix different sized fish food together which might clog up the feeder?
Do not judge me by the politicians in my City, State or Federal Government.

anthropic, will the slinger easily turn if you try to manually spin it? If not, is it because of the food in the funnel binding it? If so, the easiest way I've found to clear it is to unplug the spinner and do test throws until the food clears.
The slinger can also bind from food dust that accumulates between the slinger and the mount housing. I've got pics if this is not clear.

Thanks, guys. It's a bit difficult to get into the feeder as it is currently standing in six inches of water, but I'll try!

anthropic,
I have had much experience with this. They are very reliable, unless the church kids, leave the lid off, and it rains.
So I have had this happen with a clump of food that gets back in the bottom of the large wheel that throws the food. if it doesnt spin easily by hand, you need to clean out behind it.
I also had an issue with a wire short that made the lower motor not throw the whole time, when this happens, the amount of food dropped from the top spinner is too much to get trhown out. the fix of curse was to replace the bad connection.
I have had the lower motor go out.
If this fails, call um up. TH is very responsive and will work with you.
Cheers
