I see Eric and Cat's posts about the new Photobucket policy; to return to free 3rd party hosting, but with a proprietary watermark embedded into the pic.
I use Firefox and have been using the add-on that was created to allow viewing Pbucket 3rd party hosted pics. I just turned it off, logged out, then logged back on and all the pics are visible....without a watermark. I am not logged on to my Pbucket account, and it seems that...a least for now....Pbucket is back to the good old days of free 3rd party hosting.
Some of you's out dere are more up to speed. What's the deal?

I am sure that 3rd party hosting has it's benefits even though I do not know what they are. Maybe sharing the same photos on multiple sites??? But, I have found the PondB's way of posting photos very sufficient and some 3rd party sites can get blocked by big brother which turns the photos from potato bucket into the square and "X" thingy. I'll stick with Pond Boss's photo upload methods.

EDIT: Of course, I'm not PB'ing from a phone either, that may be the ticket.

And apparently with no "watermarks".

Blood, are you trying to show us an unimpressive fish or your snappy rubber band bracelet??

Your mother was a hamster, and your father smelled of elderberries.

Got this message from Photobucket today. I have less than 20 photos on Photobucket...Looks like just watermarking was not getting them the cash flow they were looking to get. Now the photos will also be blurred!

Photobucket currently hosts over 130 million photos for over 11 million free users! Effective June 1, 2019, new hosting limits will take effect that will impact a small portion of our image hosters.
What Are the New Limits?
Free hosters will be restricted to 25MB of hosting bandwidth per month. YOUR CURRENT USAGE IS OVER 25MB PER MONTH SO THIS NEW LIMITATION WILL AFFECT YOU.
What Happens If I Go Over My Bandwidth Allowance?
Free hosters, like you, who use more than 25MB of bandwidth will have all of their hosted photos watermarked and blurred.

To restore hosting privileges and to avoid having your images blurred and watermarked after June 1, simply purchase a premium subscription plan for unlimited monthly bandwidth. Our plan pricing is the most competitive in the photo hosting industry.

Bill, that is indeed bad news. THere are hundreds of important threads with good pictures all over this forum. To move and restore all those links to another photo hosting site is impossible.

So many 'bait and switches' going on in the world today. Nothing is free, and yet everything has a carrot out in front to tempt you. There isn't a internet site out there where something which is low cost, or free doesn't come with some automatically bundled spam software, or a hidden catch, or a cost increase coming in a month etc.

Has anyone had luck using the tool from the full reply screen where you link to a online hosted picture but use one of google's photo albums as the host site?

I didn’t receive the message from PB. But I’m a subscriber. A few years ago I was given an option of $3/mo for the service. I went ahead and signed up. I’ve never had a hiccup with them, and I still get billed every month. One RV forum I visit banned all PB pics. They wanted to retaliate when PB announced their big price hike. I’ve got 1000s of pics on it. Some of the older ones won’t load for some reason.
I hope they stay afloat, and come up with a reasonable plan for everyone.

9 yr old pond, 1 ac, 15' deep.
RES, YP, GS, FHM (no longer), HBG (going away), SMB, and HSB (only one seen in 5 yrs) Restocked HSB (2020) Have seen one of these.
I think that's about all I should put in my little pond.
