Taste of yellow perch and walleye is not significantly different than crappie or BG. It is a matter of personal taste and preparation. YP collected from MS, AL, FL have a much better chance of surviving in MS ponds compared to imports from more northern states and climate. There are yellow perch that live in northern Florida waters. Do a google for catching these fish in your state where it will list the waters that have them.

YP in MS are mostly in northern MS rivers and big waters. Not many in small ponds.

Yes, Mattmonster will likely have a very hard time locating a fish farm that sells yellow perch at the latitude of Mississippi. Those YP will likely have to be collected by angling. Plus if he puts them in a pond with LMB don't expect good results. For good success the YP would have to be stocked in a pond with SMB or HSB no LMB.

Since wipers typically do not spawn in ponds, their numbers can be controlled.

Careful not to confuse Hybrid Striped Bass with Striped Bass. HSB do not get near as big as SB.

our state record is like 45 pounds though i guess hybrid stripe bass dont get as big as regular striped bass? also why do they make hybrid stripe bass and not just sell regular strip bass? is it cause they can take over a lake?
