Just as a side mention, notice the suspended clay in the tractor pic.
It increases during the winter months.
This pic is where the tractor sank through the topsoil, exposing the clay underneath.
My pond has never been more than 4" low in the past 15 years due to the clay.
It's a double edged sword...doesn't leak a drop, but I struggle with sunlight penetration & fertility due to suspended clay. Yearly heavy ag lime applications are required just to get any plants to grow.
