I am quoting this from "Basic Pond Management". "....by looking at their mouths.Gizzards have a nose, that is their mouth is on the underside of their face that opens somewhat downward." The threadfin has "a mouth at the end of its face that open more upward." I see you're from Hico. Nice looking country around there. Nice folks too.

Roadtrip, last night I finally found some information comparing the two--the mouth thing (which wasn't as descriptive as your quote so thanks) and threadfin have yellow in their tails. I have Basic Pond Management but read it a long time ago. Maybe I need to read it again I'm actualy closer to Stephenville but have a Hico address that has caused problems for me.
