Eastland, the forage pond was there when I bought the place 18 years ago. I have/had another one that I had a dozer clean out. It was a small marshy mess. Turns out it is the site of a seep spring. It has always been a good deal until this year. For some reason this year it is running backward into the aquifer. Never has done it before and this is our wettest year on record. Since I don't live there, I only feed on weekends and any other time I can come up with an excuse to escape the metroplex. The bluegill forage base is in good shape on the one I have always had but is now in bad shape on the place I'm buying.

Randy, my wife knows that I kid about her showers. A solid half hour and she laughs about the time she fell asleep or went back to sleep while showering.

well, this post should appeal to all those strict environmentalists out there, but DAVE DAVIDSON, when i really want to catch a catchfish, and nothing else works, i spray....just a touch...of WD-40 on whatever bait (especially chicken liver or gizzards) i'm using. not slick 50, but WD-40!! no kidding. but just a touch of it!

also, i don't allow any minnows to be used for fishing in my pond, unless they are fathead minnows. now since the fathead minnow truck from the fish guy only comes every 2 months, hard to get them. my friends know this. but if i tell someone they can come over and fish with minnows, and not explain why i only allow fathead minnows, and not just "any old minnows", they may go throw net down at the creek and get who knows what and contaminate my pond! dad burn it, and we just can't allow that, can we?!!

one more thing about catching catfish. i have one of those automatic feeders that goes off 4 x a day , and all the fish just go crazy. it will really get them going. however, if you want friends over to catch fish, at least i my place, they have to be there at 7:30 am, noon, 4 pm or 7pm !!!
