Hi all, I would like to build a 5 acre lake, this would be in canton,Tx. How much is the price per cubic yard in today’s market. I approximate about 25000cys and build a dam. I’ve heard from 1 to 3 per CY, i would like to know what everyone is paying out here around east Tx. Also if anyone around canton,athens area of Texas that could give me a quote it would be nice. Thanks for y’all time.

Welcome meeksman to the forum. Mike Otto is one of the best around. Do lots of reading on here and you will see that there is lots of people that can dig a hole but it takes special people to make it hold water. You don’t want to have to do it over. I’m sure one of the pros will chime in

If Mike is unavailable, drive around the area and look at ponds. Stop and ask who built them and ask if they would use that guy again. Pat is right about the difference between pond builders and dirt pushers.
