Last week we saw our first Crested Caracara here. Looking online, and best as I can tell, there has only been one confirmed sighting here in NE Texas. Very cool raptor that chased 4 buzzards away from a dead opossum near the house. Looking at info from the Audubon Society, the bird's actions and markings confirm the identification. Should I report this bird's sighting, and if so, to who? Most of the data I find is historical. Crested Caracara Thanks, Al

This web page seems to report multiple sightings across texas? Not sure how to report your findings to this web page. Would love to see one! Great day to see such a cool bird! Caracara sightings

CC, I checked the Audubon Society, and Texas A&M Agrilife, and I found no way to do it either.
I usually just log new birds we see, but this pint-sized raptor would flap his wings, and then jump on the backs of the feeding buzzards. He stayed on them until they attempted to fly, and then jumped off, and went back to the kill. He was fearless.

Neat Al. You have had bald eagles and also a caracara this year.
It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

I was excited at first 'cause I thought you sighted a Crested Chupacabra.
Excerpt from Robert Crais' "The Monkey's Raincoat:" "She took another microscopic bite of her sandwich, then pushed it away. Maybe she absorbed nutrients from her surroundings."
