I just finished my lil' pond project by daming up a creek. The pond is only about 150 feet long by 20 feet wide on average with some wider pools throughout (40 feet). In the channel it's about 5 feet deep or so. The lil' pond has a high turnover rate, i would estimate about 5 days with no rain. I've also noticed the water is cooler than my big pond and very clear. The question is can I put any fish in this type of pond? I don't care about how big they get or how many or what type they are. Since the water is so clear it would be neat just to watch any type of fish.

Does it keeps water in it all year? Is it freeze-proof during the winter? Is it normal water? (not highly alkaline or some-such) IF you can answer yes, why not.
