Join Bob Lusk and special guest, Matt Rayl, as they dig deep into pond aeration. You will not want to miss this broadcast! Have questions? Please respond to this thread, comment on Facebook post or send an email to info@pondboss.com.

Last fall I lost almost all my large CNBG to fungus. Only large CNBG, not smaller ones, were affected/ No problems with RES or LMB. My hypothesis is that a sudden October cold snap hit spawning (thus larger) CNBG in the shallows. They were already stressed by spawning, and more exposed to cold in shallow water.
Questions: Would an aerator help prevent such an event? How about a volcano aerator to raise O2 levels? Also, is there an anti-fungal product I could feed the CNBG in the fall that might help?

I am running 6 Kasco diffusers 13/7 and this year I moved three of them to 6' of water in the 8' to 9' water depths. Bob L. suggested fish need cooler water in the summer depths. Last year I had 87 degree water from top to bottom to 11'. Is there a solar paddle wheel aerator that works? The ones I have found look Mickey Mouse!
