With some many different options out there I’m unsure of what type of aerator to upgrade to ,it’s a 1/4 acre with half of it in a circle going to 9ft deep and currently running a 1/4 hp Sweetwater diffuser in the nidlle of it then the rest of the bond bend a little and it’s max depth is 4 feet with the edges going up to 2 feet and needs something on that end to get the water flowing currently there’s a charge explosion that was let get out of hand for years ,I’m slowly curing that problem but feel I need something to help that end ,anyone have any recommendations?

Are you asking for ready to install kits, stand alone pumps, or diffusers brands? Are you adding onto the existing pump or is it too small to add more diffusers?

At any rate, Matala (sp?) and vertex are some diffuser brands that I see mentioned here quite a bit. Gast, Thompson (sp?), and Hiflow pumps seem to be popular with the DIY'ers. Pond Lyfe complete systems seem to be a good option.

I'm sure I am forgetting some of the other popular parts and such, but this will give you a start.

There are many great options out there, but I've been extremely happy with my Vertex PondLyfe system for my minipond. Since you're only dealing with 1/4 acre, something in that line may work without breaking the bank... there are probably some archived threads here that discuss how to size the system appropriately.

Thanks everyone for the advice ,I have a Sweetwater 1/4 hp rocker pump now that’s about 8 years old and needs rebuilt ,I’ve been told it would run 2 medium diffusers ,but didn’t know if a fountain or one of the kasco high oxygen diffusers would be a better option ,I was kind of thinking keep the old one where it is and adding another on the shallow end of some type ,or if one larger one would do the trick I’m not against that ,I’m not against a diy project or one that’s comes ready to go either
