There is a small pond in my town that I have thought about using for a Highschool community project to stock and manage. It is about a 1/4 acre and gets about 8 feet deep, it has a fountain which provides some aeration but would probably need another aerator. It has plenty of vegetation, it would probably be catch and release only im not sure if feeding would be liable. I’ve seen that most stocking suggestions are fatheads, Bluegills, and LMB. The pond has no fish or wildlife other than a couple turtles and tadpoles. I’m new to pond stuff so just looking for tips and suggestions.

If the pond has no fish, there is probably a reason. In northern MN, a 1/4 acre pond that's a max 8 feet deep may well suffer from oxygen depletion during winter when snow covers ice.
