Hello everyone, My name is Kevin Smith. I have been lurking in the shadows for the last year or so just trying to soak up some of the immense knowledge available and displayed here through your membership, and I have finally decided to come out into the light!  I live in Louisiana, a few miles North of Baton Rouge, and have two ponds that I manage. One a .6 acre 50 year old pond that floods occasionally, and the other, a 1 acre pond that I dug this last October. In March, I stocked 1000 CNBG and 15 lbs of FHM in the new pond and two weeks ago I stocked 150 HSB into the old pond. SO, as you can imagine, I have more than a few questions for you guys but I felt it only proper that I follow Pond Boss etiquette and introduce myself first! So, I look forward to "meeting" those of you in the forum, from whom I have been learning so much from, and I only hope that one day I can join your ranks and know enough to help others here the way you all have already helped me! I have fond youthful memories of fishing False River outside Baton Rouge using grass shrimp. Lots of CNBG and shellcrackers! Good fertile soil & water.
PB people are glad to share their experiences, and of course there are true experts here as well (I'm not).

Thanks guys, looking forward to it! Anthropic, I was at False River for Memorial Day. Had a great time and the fishing there is really coming back. As much as people have complained about it, the yearly draw downs have improved water quality tremendously already. It's well on it's way back to a quality bass/BG lake again.
