I thought I would share this tool that actually works for pulling trees to drop in the pond for cover. I bought the light weight one. Went out this morning to give it a go on several 3 to 4 inch trees and fully expecting to be fighting every tree. Wow! What a pleasant surprise. I hooked the "grubber" up to my little JD 585X 4WD and pulled 8 trees 3 to 4 inches in diameter in no time. My little JD was at 3/4 throttle and never slipped a tire in 4WD with the diff locked. One was too big to hook at the base so I hooked it about 4 feet off the ground and still easily walked away with it. The grubber never once lost grip and pulled off the tree. IMO much better than cutting trees as you get the roots as well and leave no stump behind.

I got mine at Northern Tool...

I’m always building trails at my place. I cut a lot of trees down in this 3-4” size, and it leaves a stump. I hate getting my chainsaw down in the dirt. This would be so much better for clearing the trails! No stumps.
Thanks

9 yr old pond, 1 ac, 15' deep.
RES, YP, GS, FHM (no longer), HBG (going away), SMB, and HSB (only one seen in 5 yrs) Restocked HSB (2020) Have seen one of these.
I think that's about all I should put in my little pond.

I bought the smallest one because I thought my little tractor might not be up to the task. If I had it to do over, I would buy the next size bigger. IIRC they are available up to 6 inch.
