In the past two days, I have caught and released three CC in the two pound class from neighbors ponds that I have permission to fish. They are not fed or very rarely fed. These CC put up a better fight than the 3.5 pound heavily fed CC that I caught out of my pond last year. Natural feeding = more stamina, more muscle.

Yeah, but when they put their weight on your hook, you gotta wonder if this sucker won't straighten the hook.

Just as with humans, the more fish have to work the stronger they get. A pond fed rainbow trout is completely outclassed by a similar size wild fish living in a rapidly flowing river.
