I just had a couple small .2 acre livestock ponds built. One has water in it from an older pond that the dam was cut about 150 yards uphill, and the other still dry. I already have the 1.8 acres LMB/HSB/CNBG/RES pond. I was thinking of making one a CC FHM pond. With cattle using ponds, and feeder not an option, what would you suggest?
Ponds are 90 feet across, 10 foot deep, 3;1 slope- one acre-foot ponds

Very cool Brian. I have a small cattle pond that needs to be de-mucked. If that ever happens...I want to grow FHM's for seining and yearly installments into my fishing pond for an added live food source.
I'd suggest running a water line from a suspended filter in the ponds to a freeze out hydrant below the dams. Water the cattle there and fence them out of the ponds.

These are ponds built for cattle and I don't want to maintain around them. But since I have a pond, might as well add something that can handle coexisting with cattle. This is like pondboss pond in reverse. Old school pond that has a real purpose of watering cattle, but can add a little fishing on the side.

You can give cattle access to pond water with minimum loss of water quality but it takes some fence to limit access to a small area of bank, or a nose pump.
I don't want to mow or shred around these ponds in the pasture. If I fence it off then I have to maintain what they can't get to. That is why I was thinking CC because they can handle fairly poor water quality.
