We often say to be careful when we put wild fish in ours ponds because there is a risk to carrying diseases.

But what about ducks passing from one pond to another, are they not important vectors of diseases?

And unlike Geese, the ducks do their needs directly in the water.

Last year I had a couple with their babies, we don't swim in the pond.

I believe you are right
It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.
