Welcome from deep east Texas. I agree. Subscribe to Pond Boss magazine. Lot's of great info!! My pond is 2 acres and I found this forum just in time. Don't know how I would have got along without it and the magazine. Good luck read lots and plan,plan,plan!!

One acre of deep water is MUCH easier and cheaper to manage than 2.5 ac of shallow water. Do your homework well before pulling the trigger on the bulldozer. Too much shallow water will be a manager's headache especially in later years as the pond ages. Pond's weed and algae problems are always in shallow water compared to offshore and in deeper water more towards the middle.
