Reminds me of the 1980's-1990's flood of Yanks into Texas.
Some of them had "I Love NY" bumper stickers on their cars
Not long after a sticker started popping up that said
"Love NY? - Take I-30 East"
Fishing has never been about the fish....

It isn't that often that I see a post on the Intermess that I actually belly laugh at, but this one is one that did. And I'm not from Texas (or New York).

Excerpt from Robert Crais' "The Monkey's Raincoat:" "She took another microscopic bite of her sandwich, then pushed it away. Maybe she absorbed nutrients from her surroundings."

Makes sense to me. Texas has a pretty good economy. And Oklahoma has some casinos close to the border. One is the worlds largest casino. But, from an economic that's about all Oklahoma has. And, from a financial standpoint, that may be all they need.

Based on our current tax rates, and unwillingness of Cuomo to cut spending and takes pride in blowing our money on bridges and tablets for inmates, I may be forced to move to another state simply to keep money in my own pocket. Texas is high on the list, but I would miss 9 months of winter.

They have Winter in Texas. You'd only have to miss 8 1/2 months of it.

Put it this way. It got dang cold today. I don’t do well with temps in the thirties.

That's funny Dave, A few cold days each year is to much for me anymore. I no longer care for those cold days, like hunting Texas Pheasants and or quail around the snow covered corn stubble. Nice memories though. Paying more Taxes than my fair share is not good. No matter where you live.
