Pond Boss Forums INTRO New Forum Member Introduction Looking for help with filtration problem

My name is Jim Morrison (but I'm marginally more alive than my namesake, at least on good days!). I have today posted details of my problem on gardenpondforum.com, and a couple of members there have already pointed me in your direction.
My original post is at garden pond forum. I am very happy to repost in full over here, but don't want to clutter things up by posting in the wrong section of your forums. Advice on which sub-forum would be most relevant would be much appreciated.

I don't know if this is a viable option or not but would it be possible to divert the water from the pipes coming into the pond down past the pond outlet on the other side of your fine mesh filter? This would allow mechanical removal of your invasive Australian Swamp Cropweed without sending plant fragments downstream and clogging up your fine mesh filter.

It sounds like you have a horrible invasive aquatic plant and not a lot of good options to deal with it.
