I stocked my bass as 2" fingerlings back at the end of June, went out to survey how much they have grown in 6 months and I am very happy with the results!

Nice job on making things right for growing bass. This time next year you should have some 3 lb bass. Return and keep us updated. You want to be careful to not train them to be hook smart because this will make it hard for you to collect good representative samples for monitoring growth rate.

Same here. Awesome video and healthy pond.

Now about the kayak? Never had one. Want one. Thought they were simple, but now I see all kinds of cool appendages and electronics and stuff. Perhaps you could do a bow to stern for us know nothings?

4 acre pond 32 ft deep within East Texas (Livingston) timber ranch. Filled (to the top of an almost finished dam) by Hurricane Harvey 9/17. Stocked with FHM, CNBG, RES 10/17. Added 35lbs RSC 3/18. 400 N LMB fingerlings 6/18

Nice video, nice fish.

How about telling us about your cull plans and everyone seems to want you to talk about your kayak, so tell us why is it set up the way it is.

At year 3 is when I plan on start culling, not sure on a size range yet more than likely 12-14" unless they show signs of great growth like the ones I have been catching, but i am open to any suggestions. As for the kayak lol. I posted some links but I do not have a video yet of my going over the setup as it is now but will becoming out with one soon, I mostly use it for inshore salt water fishing

For the cull plan, Bob and others at the PB conference talked about culling males during the spawn. The females are the ones that are going to get big, so males are out if your are trying for trophies.

If you wait three years, aren't you worried about having that many spawns before you start to cull?

Not really, after 3 years that will establish a good base and 12" to 14" is the range most bass are stubted. Ether you can have a pond where you only catch one or two 6lbs and up bass or numbers of nice quality bass around 3lbs I would rather have numbers. If I keep catching fish a certain size range then I will start taking them out. Ether way its better than no managment at all lol. also by the way what site did you use to get the link for your avatar every thing i use doesnt work.

I just uploaded my picture to G plus back in the day and then link to it from there. Now I would have to figure it out using a different method. Imgur is a site some use for uploads. That seems to work for now.

Also, knowing your goals makes it easier for others to chime in. It should be interesting to see what they say.

Also, what is your forage base?

Well all the fathead minnows are gone lol. Some the bulk is CNBG they had a good spawn this year and the bass have been going to town on them. im the spring I hope to cast net some wild shiners to add to the food chain and might try my hand at some threadfin shad, if they make it then great if not the bass get a nice snack. Also gonna add a dozen or so CC as a clean up crew.

Very nice LMB !

With LMB/BG as a goal assuming no highly unusual conditions, if a water body is originally properly stocked then the stockers should not be harvested. It is the offspring that require mgt. If you catch an original fish with a problem then take it out if the others are in good shape.

Agreed, that is my plan. I hear about people fin clipping to mark fish, how is this done? what fin do they clip and how? and do you like my signature picture? trying to be like you haha

One thread on fin clips. For LMB clip part of tail or pelvic fin.
