I ran across this video today on the Texas Parks and Wildlife Facebook page. I didn't even know this was a thing. I remember reading on another electrofishing thread here that the first rule of electrofishing was "stay in the boat". smile These fellers didn't get the memo! laugh

Anyhoo, I thought y'all might enjoy checking it out if you're like me and have never seen it done on foot. They kinda look like the Ghostbusters of the Pond.

Backpack electroshockers are primarily used for stream sampling. I never heard they were ever used for pond or lake sampling which requires a different technique due to water depths and area sampled.

Makes perfect sense to me... I just didn't even know that portable backpack dealio existed. Kinda neat.

Yes but with very little power and used for checking small areas in shallow streams.
