Sad to say my partner in crime is retiring. This little tin boat has had an extremely hard life, and is about to become East TX yard art. Acres of lotus, coontail, and waterleaf met their final fate from this boat. Hundreds of pounds of CNBG and LMB were caught out of this boat. Countless brush piles were placed out of this boat.

Ultimately, she died via cutrine. And no, Flex Seal won't fix a hundred little pin holes. I'm sad, but I bet I get over it.

Went next door to a neighbors pond with my daughter to fish. She smoked me on catching for a while till I moved spots.... I was using a pop-R color of a peacock bass and nailed my lifetime bob best bass, she jumped three times and ripped out drag. We had taken no phones so couldn't take any pix other than in our mind. This fish went from 8-10# easily.... daughter said 10#+ a real hoss for sure. Couldn't wait to run home for a camera so we revived her and let her go.... hope she makes it... a fine fish..no pix but a memory for me and my daughter that will last

As hot as it was I didn't want to chance loosing it to heat so.... revived in her own home. I have at least a few 5-7# bassies in my pond that already put the hurt on the BCP. Not catching hardly any BCP so not sure what's going on.......

I moved my feeder from the shallow end of the pond to around the point of transition or a drop off. They were slow starting..hope they will pick up in the new spot in the next few days.

Apparently I was unaware we were hosting a goose party. My brother in law took his kids out to fish in the pond. Instead he found around 16 geese....??

I built a herbicide spray boom for the new tin boat. First test run was to look for leaks, and that part went well. 2 outside nozzles do the work, and the shorter center nozzle just fills out the middle. Removable drop hoses so that precut hoses can be quickly changed to allow for whatever the target depth of the day is. I think the center drop is 4', and the 2 outside ones are 6' in this video. I'm testing with a cheap 2 cycle 1" water pump that's been sitting around here for years. When it dies, I'll replace it with a 1" Honda 4 cycle pump.

First video is with the siphon off, second video is with the adjustable siphon on, and pulling diluted pasture dye from a 2 1/2 gallon jug. I waited until my wife went back to town to paint the driveway blue.

I needed to put a coupling in the pvc pipe because of the size of the system. Being able to separate the pump from the hose will make it much easier to transport.

The sprayer gets an honorable mention but the driveway painted blue is priceless. Did the same thing to my weed chocked gravel drive and the grandkids thought that I did paint it.

Looks great! You better get to washing off the drive, that concentration won't be gone by the end of the week.... Don't ask how I know that. whistle

I like it, you may have started a new trend having the drive that Caribbean ocean blue. I am thinking my wife would give me a dirty look or maybe even a dirty word or two when she arrived back from shopping kinda of like a Homer Simpson moment smile

Guys, the driveway's not gonna be a problem. That fact that I'm blue from the knees down may be though. I really thought this project out before I built and tested it. I should have given the same effort to figuring out how to turn the pump off once it started pumping dye. How I also got dye on my forehead, I'll never know. PaPa Smurf comes to mind.

Nice work Al! A cobalt blue patch on the drive is a small price to pay for indulging your inner fabricator.

"Forget pounds and ounces, I'm figuring displacement!"

If we accept that: MBG(+)FGSF(=)HBG(F1)
And we surmise that: BG(>)HBG(F1) while GSF(<)HBG(F1)
Would it hold true that: HBG(F1)(+)AM500(x)q.d.(=)1.5lbGRWT?
PB answer: It depends.

Thanks Tony. I made a few adjustments while in the boat, but that wasn't unexpected. Very simple and cheap to make, but a big time saver for me. The best part is not ever having to worry about 12 volt pump failure and Cutrine again. The only part of this whole rig the herbicides touch is the hose to the boom. I should have done this years ago.

You say that now, but wait until you miss hitting the mouth of the tank while pouring Cutrine.................

If anyone uses concentrated dye while spraying they will find out just how sloppy they really are. There is a reason why the PPE is recommended/required for applicators.

No pouring in the tin boat, and all the fluids and jugs are in a 27 gallon tote while in the boat. Chems were premixed in the shed.

I ordered a 5 gallon flat bottom tank today. Viscosity was an issue, and the siphon pulled smoother with a mix diluted with water. The larger tank should give me more options.

Throw something hard at me. I killed one boat, I don't want to kill another one.

O.K., since you asked. How would you spray alum only using one pump?

Scott, I feel comfortable saying Jacques Cousteau could have found a penny 6 feet under the water, while blindfolded and standing on the bank if here. Don't think alum will ever see my pond. An occasional bloom would be nice though.

Tbar, I'm glad I saw the blue while my wife was in town. She would have let me walk around with a blue face for days without telling me.

Nice Mark. How you liking the dock?

I like it a lot...it stays close to the water..low profile which I love...seems really well made. The cons: floating dock instability is something to get used to..but the instability I would describe as very minor. Also the alum or metal gets extremely hot in summer, so bare feet are a big no-no...even bending down to grab a minnow bucket can be like putting your hands on a stove...8 months a year that shouldn't be an issue....but during the day it is right now! Ha Ha

Actually the day before yesterday, but rarely do I even know what day of the week it is anymore.

The only stipulation I had was to build a floating dock that allowed my wife to cane pole fish for CNBG with her feet in the water. She'll probably drop a few more parameters on me next time she oks something.
