Newbie here so be kind. Built this thing last fall and finally got around to joining the forum just this morning. Since then I think I've figured out how to post pics so here we go. This is in east central Iowa, a little less than an acre, and stocked with a pretty typical mix of BG, HBG, RES, LMB, YP, and FHM this past April. It is actually a dam'd stream that goes from trickle to pretty good flow in spring and during storms. It's loaded with life already. Crawdads galore, frogs, snapper, etc. I just recently put a line in the water and have caught a few perch as you can see in one of the pics. They went from 3"ers to 7-8"ers over the summer which seems pretty cool. The rest of the pics are of before, after and during construction. Thanks for looking and for any and all advice.
Welcome Jason! Beautiful pond you made there! I live south of Grinnell, IA. Do you have goals for your pond? No worries if you don't or were just sharing. The PB forum family enjoys seeing and talking about new places. Looks like you're off to a great start!
"Politics": derived from 'poly' meaning many, and 'tics' meaning 'blood sucking parasites'.
Ditto Good looking pond and area. Welcome to the forum. Get involved and make new friends and learn as you go. Lots to read and before long add information to others.
Thanks. Dr, I'm in Lisbon. Not too far from you. My goals are pretty simple. I'm not a real serious fisherman, but would like to have nice, big BGs and YP. However, that goal might actually rank right behind having a proper view while drinking a beer with family and friends. LOL! I'll eventually accomplish both.
