Guys,

I have been for years and years and years trying to find a good reliable source of Blues for here in the deep south namely Georgia area... Can anyone help? I would REALLY love to get some of Todd Overtons D&B blues... Can anyone offer any suggestion? I have a 2 acre pond and a 9 acre pond.. I would love to make the 2 acre pond a catfish pond with Blues, bluegill and redear..

Big pond I have read thru several of your blue cat threads thru the years. I thought you had disappeared off the site!! I was hoping you had sourced some BC and had some observations to share. Glad to see you're still around but sorry I can't help sourcing fish. I also wanted to get some of Overtons D&B strains but it was just too much further away for me. Keep me updated on your BC pond if you ever get one going.

Most people that get BC around here catch them from the Arkansas River where they are very abundant. Caught in cool/cold weather, they can be more easily transported. A neighbor of mine put several in his 1.4 acre pond a few years ago, and now they are 10-20 pounds. My ponds are too small for them.

Maybe there is a large river near the OP where he can source them.

Some states, Missouri is among them, you can not legally take wild fish and use them for stocking. It is a current problem for me just to get broodstock with local genetics.
