Interesting article by Dan VanSchaik about deer genetics.
It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

It was interesting Dave, but some of the history in deer population and dates in Texas were different from my research. And from my reading the deer genetics (transplanted) transported, by the TP&W, came from the northern states back in 1943(surprised me that it was done during WW2) and again in 1961. I am no expert, Just saying

Ok, so did anyone else feel like Mr. Lusk was talking about your pond when reading the article about where did those fish come from?? I loved how he referred to the GSF as infidels. That made me laugh, although I feel like he was talking about my pond...all except the mud cats...do not have any of those...thank goodness!!
Thanks all of you on here that make that publication and all the articles in it possible!!!

Tracy, I've heard something about that also.
