Anyone have or know of an auto feeder that effectively can feed the largemouth pellets? They are 3/4-1" in size and the normal feeders such as Texas Hunter can't handle that size. Bob Lusk said Sweeney used to have a scatter feeder that would, but he wasn't sure anymore?

yeah, Bob said they were sweeney scatter feeders. but, he wasn't sure if they were still available. I think they may be deer feeders they adapted.

My understanding is that the Sweeny's have some type of screw drive, and they will throw Aquamax Largemouth pellets.

TWatts, are you going to PondBoss Conference in October? The sweeney reps are usually there.

I have a TX Hunter LM135 feeder. I contacted TH HQ and asked Cody if their feeders will throw the Purina Largemouth pellets with some sort of adjustment. I use Aquamax MVP currently. Cody told me that their feeders will NOT throw that size pellet.....too large. I got the feeling that I was not the first person to ask that question and that they are working on something to address the issue in future models of their feeders. BM61.

If my memory is correct, the Sweeney model that was capable of throwing the Purina Largemouth Pellets was called the Sweeney BigMouth feeder.
TH feeders right now can throw up to a 8mm pellet reliably, and a 9.5mm pellet with roughly 95% reliability. Once the pellet gets to 9.5 mm in size, a little variance in size will allow the pellets to bridge between the spin plate and the bottom dispensing wheel. I was under the impression that TH was currently NOT going to build a feeder to throw the larger Purina LMB pellets because the demand wasn't there to warrant re-tooling for the larger pellets. If I am wrong about that, please correct me.

...TH feeders right now can throw up to a 8mm pellet reliably, and a 9.5mm pellet with roughly 95% reliability... That sounds about right. Once or twice a month my 9.5 Cargill either binds up in the hopper chute, or the clear funnel above the dispensing wheel. I had no issues when I was throwing Skretting 9.5 pellets, which are smoother than Cargill, or any 1/4" pellets of any kind.

9.5mm is 3/8". 1/4" or 5/16" pellets work perfectly.
Sometimes the 9.5mm pellets are really 7/16" to 1/2", that's where the problems start. It all depends on how consistent the pellet mfg. is with their sizes.

The TEXAS AVENGER has a special model that feeds the Aquamax Largemouth pellets. It is a special order item from MB Ranch King but Ultramatic Feeders keeps them in stock. They only list the standard fish feeder on their website.
The MB Ranch King guys will be at the Pond Boss Conference and will have some there to eyeball.
