I am researching the forum to try to figure out if putting some sort ot airation or pump to circulate the water in my pond will help eliminate the alage?
It is about a 1500 sq foot pond - shallow on one end and maybe 8-10 feet at the deep side.
It is an old pond that has not been maintained for many years and I am trying tomake it more healthy. It has natural spring feeds and outflow.
Eventually I will need to clean the muck out of it but right now I don't have the time.
So my questions (as I look through previous threads are):
Is airation or circulation helpful to keep a pond clean (er)?
What types of airation or cirulation should I be looking at for this application?
Any advice and leads are appreciated.

Lots of threads about this topic. Look through them. But, to answer your question, aeration is helpful to keep your pond healthy. Aeration may or may not help with reducing muck, depending how much muck is organic and how much is soil. Aeration can help minimize algae by keeping the water autonomous from top to bottom and by keeping nutrients suspended. You may still have some algae, but aeration can help to minimize it. Pay special attention to start up procedures. In order to figure out what system to buy, go here: http://www.pondboss.com/Resources?lci=1
