Hello,
I have a Vertex Air-1 system that is 3 years old. I just installed the Brookwood Piston Service Kit and double checked how put it back together and now all I get is buzzing noise from the compressor. Was working before but wasn't getting the normal output from Aerator and was told that after about 2 years need to replace the piston cup and parts to bring back to normal operation. Any suggestions what might be issue now? Thanks. Ron

The other thing that can lead to low output at the diffusers is dirty diffusers. No help for your compressor problem. Diffuser cleaning

Ron, can you rotate the compressor by hand if the air hose is off of the unit?

I've taken the compressor apart a 3rd time and made sure all replacement parts put in as per instructions. I am able to get the compressor to start by giving the fan a turn, then it runs. But if I shut it off and restart, still stuck in the buzz "load" mode until I turn fan again. Acting almost as if the motor is weak and could be failing... again any suggestions welcome. Thanks.

Check with esshop for parts. Probably as snrub says "bad capacitor". The capacitor is responsible for getting the motor going 'turning'. Having to manually turn the motor via the fan strongly suggests weak capacitor. I've bought replacement capacitors economically on eBay.

Appreciate the feedback from everyone, going to try to and replace capacitor next, sounds like could be the culprit.

Is the buzzing more of a humming? If the motor is stalled I would expect a humming. With the motor unplugged, how would you rate the effort needed to rotate it by hand? Does it seem to rotate hard?

If we accept that: MBG(+)FGSF(=)HBG(F1) And we surmise that: BG(>)HBG(F1) while GSF(<)HBG(F1) Would it hold true that: HBG(F1)(+)AM500(x)q.d.(=)1.5lbGRWT? PB answer: It depends.

Just wanted to follow-up...
Issue was a bad capacitor, replaced and now working properly. Thanks again for all the feedback/suggestions. Ron

docoman, Do you have a picture or a replacement part description for the capacitor? I think I identified my capacitor and it has a rubber sleeve over it? My sleeve is ripped and I did want to try to protect the electrical parts under it. I didn't know if you identified why the capacitor went bad or how hard it as to get a replacement and solder it in?
