I am not positive but my guess is Gambusia/mosquito fish ? Would have to be an accidental stock from fish truck if so. What are yall's thoughts. I know pic is a bit blurry but the little bugger was tuff to wrangle.

that is a male Gambusia, it a melanistic color morph that happens naturally.

Thanks Bobby, I had a hunch that it was a Gam just wanted a second opinion. They are everywhere... must have came on fish truck. I am not bothered by them though there are much worse things you can catch from a fish truck lol.

All the years of having Gams I have never seen one with spots like that..... cool looking....

I am not if the western GAM has that gene or if so if it is a frequent...I know there is a western and an eastern species...they do stand out...I can go to any ditch and it will be full of them and I can usually see one or two of the colored ones...its only the males.

I do think some one was playing around with breeding them and ended up getting females that color too.
