I know this has been asked before but I have a one acre pond - lots of BG - set my feeder to go three times per day at around 10 seconds - the BG clean it up in under one minute
I know I need to step up the amount - how does one know when enough is enough? I have no problem paying for the feed - should I feed as much as they will eat within a 5 minute period?

Tim, I think the five or ten minute rule is meant to be a maximum, rather than a minimum. That is, if they don't clean it up within ten minutes, you are overfeeding.
Tough to answer your question without knowing your goals and your water. If you are fighting FA and have very fertile water, may not be wise to step up feeding, even if they will keep eating. If relatively infertile water with little in the way of FA and/or a bloom, you likely could increase feeding.
At least, that's what I'd do. The real experts will be here soon to tell what's the best choice!

thanks - I think I have fertile water - I know overfeeding can cause problems - think I will keep at the level of feed I am now and play it by ear
