Hey guys!
I have a 1 acre pond that is currently 16ft but should be over 20 at full pool. I live in north FL so gets pretty hot during the spring and summer. Planning on getting a 120 septic aerator with 2 defusers. What times of the year should I aerate and for how long and how often? was thinking during the heat of the day 12pm - 4pm during spring and summer.

IMO, to determine how long you aerate, you will need to know how much water each diffuser moves as well as approximately how much water is in the pond. Once you know those things, you want to aerate the number of hours it takes to "turn" the pond water volume at least once, and twice is even better, in 24 hours. That is your run time. IMO I would also run the aerator at night instead of the day. At night your pond vegetation is actually using DO. Fish kills often happen in the hours prior to dawn when the DO drops to its lowest level.

Not a pro...just my 1 cent
