Pond Boss Forums AERATION Systems questions Aeration and heat

I have two bottom diffusers in my newly built 0.4 acre pond. It is 15-16' deep. The pond was full a couple weeks before I added the aeration and the water at depth was much cooler than the surface. Swimming in it near the surface was warm and if you swam to the very bottom it was uncomfortably cold. I have been running the system 24/7 and now the water feels the same temp everywhere and is warm. I swam down yesterday to the diffuser and noticed zero change in temperature.

It has been super hot here lately. 111 degrees Saturday and over 100 pretty much every day for the past week. Should I be concerned about overheating the water? Would it be better to only run the system at night in hopes of not heating the water as much and leaving cooler water at the bottom for the fish to escape the heat?

Bdog this question has been asked a lot of times out here and you will get a LOT of different answers... I live here in Arkansas and as you can imagine we pretty much get the same hot crap yall do!! lol I have never ran my air 24/7 I only run it from dusk till dawn in the summer. Is that right or wrong.... well that depends on who you talk to... but the most important time to run your air I believe is at night period. During the day you may have heat but you also have the sun helping you create D.O. in your pond until dusk. So I would run it dusk till dawn for sure... 24/7 is something I may do in an emergency situation... Or if my pond was so big that it would take longer to turn it all over once in a 12 hour period, but your pond is not that big so turnover should not be a problem within the night hours.
