Hey guy going to be stocking my first bass in my pond in a week or so. The pond is 1acre and has only FHM, CNBG, and 3 dozen shiners. The CNBG where stocked in Dec and there are 18 adult CNBG and theFHM have been in over a year. There are thousands of new CNBG and FHM hacthlings from this year all over the pond. Plan on ordering 80 bass thinking I should have 50 or so make it to next year. Do ya have any advice to give on introducing new 2.5 inch bass fingerlings to a new pond?

From what happened to me I wouldn't stock predators for at least a year...... or at least cut down on the number of them . They will eat up all your CNBG before the year is out. That's what happened to me,Before I had a good forage base . Just what happened to me so your results may vary

From my experience, I would order advanced fingerlings if you can.

I would go with 50 and if you need more later use advanced fingerlings. How big are the new CNBG ?

I choose 80 to account for kill off and predation hoping to have around 50 make it the first year, the new CNBG around 4" on average, there are 18 adult CNBG i put in the pond spring of last year they are around 7". I have cover around the pond like Christmas trees, concrete culverts, logs, pallet stacks, and concrete blocks. I have a automatic feeder that goes off every morning at 0730 and the new bass are also feed trained. Should I release them by the feeder that way the ones that stay will know when and where to get feed? or release them near cover?
