I was pulling a couple pound bass out of the water and the line broke with my spinner bait stuck in its mouth. What will happen to this bass?

Your bass will likely work it loose and toss it, don't be surprised if you see it jumping out of the water and shaking it's head.

I've had LMB break off spinnerbaits, and seen them back at the BG feeder waiting for it to throw a month later. If it's outside their mouth, it should eventually rust out. Swallowing plastic worms is much worse for them.

I agree with the thoughts above. And, from now own, bend the barb flush to the shank and go barbless. That's more sporting, and easier for the fish to throw it, too.

Sunil has a hog LMB like that in his pond from a few years ago. I'd say he still owes me a spinner bait, but I guess it broke off while on my line! I really liked that particular lure, too!

I remember that Gold Blade Spinner.
To be quite honest, I was scheming as to how I could take possession of it before you handily lost the lure while trying to horse that Tuna into the boat.
Excerpt from Robert Crais' "The Monkey's Raincoat:" "She took another microscopic bite of her sandwich, then pushed it away. Maybe she absorbed nutrients from her surroundings."

Hahahahaha! Yep, that was the one. I could have sworn I saw that bruiser wink at you but I was afraid to say anything out of fear you'd say I was imagining it - now I know I was right!

I lost a bass on a pig and jig last year broke my line I was upset at the time thinking it had to be a big one!! Well about a week later we found it floating Turtles got to him and the jig was hanging half out his gill plate..... I couldn't believe it my jig was still there..lol The bass was only about 2.5 to 3 pounds but they can I will die from lures time to time....
