Iv'e been waiting to see if there was a successful spawn or not at my 3/4 acre pond. I made a trip there last week and saw some small flickering of the water like it was lightly raining. Looked over to see a ball of fry and netted a few. Clumped in a circle about the size of a inner tube. Haven't been back yet to see how much bigger they are and how many are left. Last year they were eating ground up pellets at the size they are in the pic.

I know the feeling. The newly installed FHM in my pond have reproduced and it's a good thing. It's funny how most everyone I tell (outside PB)goes "oh that's good, what else is going on?" when all I can think about is going back to the pond a catching some, or feeding them, or to see if there are more. I'm becoming a pond-geek, thanks for sharing! I don't know my fry, but I'll guess bass? I'll taka a pic of mine over this weekend and we can compare. If mine aren't FHMs...something has gone wrong, terribly wrong.

I stocked about 1,000 FHM in my new 0.28 acre pond back in March. There are lots of fry around the edges. The 50+ eight inch CC are not making much of a dent in them. Should be bank to bank FHM by October.

LOL, John I read your post and was scrolling up without noticing that the post had changed to Esshup's. I was thinking "John......them ain't no FHM, LOL.
I also have a bunch of babies in the shallows of my sediment pond where I put FHM in last fall. I was not sure if they were FHM or Gams that survived the fish kill, but was hoping it was the FHM.

Here is a picture of the minnows from my pond. These should be FHM...
