We found this blue fish in our pond in North East Ohio today we have no idea what it is. We have it stocked with fatheads, shiners and rainbow trout. Is this a strange trout fingerling? Or something else that came from up stream?

It was strange because he was not afraid of the camera at all.

The pond is two years old and in the middle of no where.

I would venture to say it's a fathead minnow. Looks to be a male with the tubulars on its head. Most likely near the end of its life of why it's not showing fear. FHM's don't live much longer than a year.

Yep. FHM male. End of life cycle of approximately 18 months.

I'd also guess fathead although it looked like Jaws it the first few seconds of the video.

Thanks! I didn't know they turned blue like that at the end of their life.

Fish color at any one time depends on many factors. Often male FH are almost black during the spawn.
