Kelly identified this over here. http://forums.pondboss.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=472292#Post472292Now it's starting to mat up around the edges somewhat like FA. Eight now I'm working to mechanically remove some with a net. I won't want to keep adding to the cycle so I hope any I can remove is good. At some point I may need some chemicals would curtrine plus be what I should use? Or something else to help? I was hoping to avoid but I know it can help. Thanks Dave

I have found this information, https://www.jonesfish.com/content/algae-and-weed-identificationTheir recommendation is to use a herbicide with the algaecide. I have some algaecide but no herbicide. Based on what all I have read this is my best shot. I don't want this to mutate... There is not much information on this type of Algae, it seems to be more of a problem in New Zealand but somehow I have it as well. Dave
Thanks Dave 1 acre pond.

Hey, Custom, your efforts at manual removal are definitely worthwhile. Any organic material you can get out of your pond is effort to the good. That said, if you have enough that you can't it all by hand, I would think Cutrine would be a viable option since it's algae. However, some forms of algae may not respond to Cutrine the way FA does, so I'd suggest waiting for input from someone who has firsthand knowledge or who does this for a living.
I see it's been a few days since you originally posted so maybe bumping this back to the top will help you get some better advice than I have to offer.
