Hey guys. I just got some sad news today. Rocky Stephens passed away this last weekend. He collapsed at lunch with a blood clot in his lungs. I haven't been here in a long time but 10 years back or so y'all helped me with questions on a family pond. Rocky lived a couple of hours from Dallas with beautiful ponds, land, and a house he built overlooking it all from the living room windows. He invited me to come dove hunting and fishing and I took a friend and he showed us a great time, hospitality, and friendship. I went thru our old messages and he had me and Buck out twice that year. Ten years goes so fast and how did i forget those ribeyes the second trip. That was '07. We've both stayed in touch on Facebook just liking each others pictures and wishing happy birthdays. He always invited me back and I guess I couldn't find the time. Now I wish I would have. He was the nicest guy. A true good ole boy. Please pray for his wife Marilyn and his family. His last post on fb was a beautiful pic of the pond at sunset and read "Sunset this evening we are blessed beyond words....." RIP Rocky

Thanks for this forum. Meeting Rocky was worth it alone besides you guys help and answers. God bless

Keith, thanks for letting all of us know. He sure seems like a guy who was at peace in this world.

Sounds like he knew his one thing. And that is a good place to be.

Prayers for his family.

There's an iconic PB image of RT floating in the shallows of his pond, wearing respectable swim trunks, and surf shoes.

Travel well, RT.

Best wishes to his family. I found this thread with pictures of his bride, his car and his very nice pond.

Hate to hear it. Nice guy.

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

I'm sorry Keith, RT seems like a great guy! There is Mother Nature, Old man Winter, and April showers as the seasons change... but one thing is constant no matter what. His name.... Father Time... He stops for no one and the older I get the more I realize that stopping to smell the roses as Eric always says is becoming more and more important to me....

From Rocky's last post on his FB it sounds like he did just that he stopped and enjoyed his place his life and his family and was in a good place.

To be honest I couldn't think of a better place to move on in life then at my church with God, family and friends all around me.... Way to live Rocky way to live!!

Absolutely crushing. RT was one of the first guys that I met on this forum. He was, and will always be, a true friend. The guy had a heart of gold.

I messed up. I read it as he was at church and rereading the message from his family and good friend on fb, it said lunch. Buck texted me and i was pretty sad when i read it. He did acknowledge the man up stairs and spoke in terms of being thankful and blessed quite a bit. I'm actually not sure of that day what all he did but I'm not sweating where he's at either way. Will edit post. Sorry bout that.

This was from his friend Joe

I just received some terrible news. One of my very best friends, Rocky Stephens, that I've known for the last 25 years, just passed away a couple of hours ago. He collapsed at lunch from a blood clot in his lungs, while celebrating Mother's Day weekend with family members down in Waco. His wife Marilyn asked me to share the news and let his friends know. Please pray for Rocky and his family. R.I.P. my friend. I will miss you greatly.

Rocky (RT) shared many roads with all of us here and was as good a man as they come. I enjoyed smelling the roses with him along the journey, and as this thread shows - we all did !!! Fellow Pond Boss journeymen do take time to enjoy the path through life and like RT help as many others as you can along the way. Life is about what you give , not what you get!

Rocky - well done sir , well done indeed !!!
