Were they on feed at the hatchery ? Start by feeding very small pellets or crushing up bigger pellets. They can be trained at that size - so go ahead.

Yeah I used to take my AM 600 pellet and crush them in a zip lock bag. Then poor them into a plastic cup and chunk it into my pond...

You might also try hydrating the feed if you're feeding by hand, which I recommend. I consider it my not so secret weapon.

"Forget pounds and ounces, I'm figuring displacement!"

If we accept that: MBG(+)FGSF(=)HBG(F1)
And we surmise that: BG(>)HBG(F1) while GSF(<)HBG(F1)
Would it hold true that: HBG(F1)(+)AM500(x)q.d.(=)1.5lbGRWT?
PB answer: It depends.

Jeff B,

I think a small mortality is not uncommon. How many total fish did you put in?

Not about feeding bg I have a pond about 150 by 30 feet 7' average depth with fhm and res. I am feeding the fhm just curious how much feed I can give them.I hand feed several times a day it takes about 15minutes for them to nibble their way through the food.they always seem to be hungry.

Jeff, Losing a few smaller fish when first stocked I would not be worried about. I would say thats fairly normal with all the stress they go through.

CB100 FHM can eat a lot of small things I'm am sure they are not going hungry. 15 minutes is more than enough IMO for minnows. FHM are amazing and just find a way to live.

Thanks rc51 I am not thinking that they are not getting enough food they are multiplying like crazy and getting big. I'm curious if I can give them to much food. Water is clearing up from winter runoff, slight green tint but no real bloom yet.
