RES and BG are now spawning in my pond. They are crowding together in the same area where they spawned last year, but the water level is already lower than last year. I'm afraid some eggs may be high and dry before they hatch. The pond lost about 2' of water in the first 3 days after the rain stopped. It's still falling fast, but not as fast. The SF were fighting each other and causing a surface disturbance that was visible from some distance. I didn't see any GSF or LMB or anything else. There are swarms of tadpoles in other parts of the pond.

yeah I was afraid of this also as they do spawn fairly shallow at least some of them do, but it they are n 6 to 8 inches of water or so mine have been fine. I have been more worried about the GBH getting them than anything else.

The only difference between a rut and a Grave is the depth. So get up get out of that rut and get moving!! Time to work!!

I'm about sure some of mine won't. I just hope that enough do that I'll have a successful spawn. I fell sorry for those hard working, tenacious little critters. They should all succeed so that I can eat them.
