Thanks guys! Do you think they will get to be 8 lbs in a 1 acre pond or do you think 6.5 is about tops? And yes it was very nice being able to walk around the stable dock while this fish pulled me all over the place

Thanks Mat. On a side note I also caught 3 smaller ones yesterday from the ones I put in last spring. They were all about 8 plus inches also when I put them in last April. They are now 14 inches. They almost doubled in length in one year. I couldn't believe it.

RC,
How is your DO doing? With your fish load in a small pond, do you have any concerns for a fish kill in the summertime?

Sweet fish RC! I just learned recently that HSB are actually a cool water fish (Thanks Ewest!). When the weather gets hot, do you avoid fishing your HSB?

RC,
How is your DO doing? With your fish load in a small pond, do you have any concerns for a fish kill in the summertime? Hey highflyer, I am always concerned about D.O. lol. I don't have a D.O. meter and I am getting a bit of mass in my pond as you said. We have been keeping a few more fish as well because of this reason, but I do not know my D.O. levels and I suppose I am playing a bit of a dangerous game even with my air setup. As we all know what's happened to others on the forum. At this point my bigger HSB like this one will be culled if I catch them. I am also keeping any smaller bass I catch. I will be kicking my air up as well to 10 hours a night this weekend. Not much else I can do even if I had a D.O. meter. I have never seen my fish piping and they always seem very active so I hope I am not to far over the edge. RC
