Live in Michigan, jus had quite a rain storm and it muddied pond.
First stocking is tomorrow.
any issue with stocking minnows and a few trout in muddy water?
maybe a catfish or two....
Was planning on just going with the minnows until my Dad got involved, he's getting into his mid -80's and wants to catch a trout this summer......
out of respect I will oblige.
thanks

I do not know about trout in a pond. I fish out west a lot, I've seen the rivers with trout get pretty muddy, and the trout seem to survive.

I stocked FHM when my pond was the color of mud.. they exploded. Throw out pallets, or see some of the other structures guys here have made. They will lay eggs on the underside of the pallets. I had mine in for several months (over the winter and early spring) before I started stocking my other fish.
When I say the color of mud, I mean this.

9 yr old pond, 1 ac, 15' deep.
RES, YP, GS, FHM (no longer), HBG (going away), SMB, and HSB (only one seen in 5 yrs) Restocked HSB (2020) Have seen one of these.
I think that's about all I should put in my little pond.

Thanks for the quick response.
before the pond filled I put a bunch of pallets, along wit assorted structures at varying depths.
as far as the trout go, I know their survival is not guaranteed and in the best case, they would need restocking , but my dad's age is in line with his stubbornness.....so trout it is....
so the adventure begins...
